BJD--New Year's Day Meetup!
Well, I wasn't going to do it--need to actually do some work--but hey--it's a holiday, right??? ^___^

So the kids got dressed up and off we went!

[info]hotmarscube and [info]aries_jordan hosted the fantastic party down in the San Diego area. There was freshly made whole-wheat pizza cooked in their patio oven and snacks and goodies. And a very nice White Elephant Gift Exchange (people brought some great items!).

Since my Volks kids got to go to the Dolpa and my Bambis to the Elfdoll Store, it was time for Elurin and Irime to get out.

He's wearing the Dollheart 2007 Valentine Boy's Outfit and Luts wig. She's wearing a Vita Vera dress.

When I arrived in San Diego there was already a TON of gorgeous dolls set up! I just love the variety here. And they all look so nice together. Lots of interaction. Lovely Christmas tree and props, too.

It was a lovely New Year's Day--sunny and very warm! I had a great time driving down--the traffic was light and I happily sped along in my new certified-used car. The party was full of old friends and friendly acquaintances and gorgeous dolls. I got a doll couch in the Gift Exchange (almost had a nice goth-lolli dress, but oh, well, and it wasn't quite my girl's style anyway). It was a terrific way to start off a New Year!

Wow, lovely turn out! I need to get back into going to these meet-ups, or figure out something around here. Gorgous dolls and I always love seeing Mechamel's creative kids! Your kids look smashing in their fancy dress!

It was limited to around 20 people... and I think fewer showed up, but it was a good number and there was a great, friendly, relaxed atmosphere and plenty of interesting doll-related conversations (yes, one could actually take time to CHAT and relax!). I love the San Diego events because they're a nice group of people who really love dolls. You can see--there were a TON of dolls there! Clochette had many of Troupe Tiny there, too.

Well, if it's okay, I'd love to go sometime and bring B along, he gets such a kick out of these things. And I promise to bring along at least one interesting doll. If you can, let me know. I do need to get out more.

My girl was in Vita-Vera! It reminds me of all your lovely gowns. Someday I may try for a commission... (but right now--I need to follow my New Year Resolution to not spend so much... at least for a while!!!) ~__^

Well, thanks for throwing the party! ^___^

It wasn't that bad of a drive. I came from my Dad's place in S. Orange Co., so it was only about 1.5 hr drive, instead of 2.5 from my apartment! And it was such a nice day with light traffic that it was actually very pleasant.

I'll love seeing your photos...
